Voting has Officially Begun for November 6 Election


Sacramento County Voter Registration and Elections (VRE) has delivered Vote by Mail (VBM) ballots to the US Postal Service for distribution to all currently registered voters in the County for the November 6 General Election.​

Voters may use any Ballot Drop Box throughout the County to return their ballot. VRE has a drive-through Ballot Drop Box in the Election’s Office parking lot at 7000 65th Street, Sacramento. This Ballot Drop Box is open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week until 8:00 p.m. on Election Night. If voters prefer to return their ballots by mail, postage for the November ballot is $.71. 

Voters are encouraged to return their ballots early and sign their pink VBM envelope in order for their ballot to be counted. Information on the days and hours of operation for Ballot Drop Boxes or upcoming Vote Centers is available on the VRE website at www.Elections.SacCounty.net​, or use the links in the Key Election Dates below.

​Close of voter registration for November 6 election. Voter registration forms must be mailed (postmarked by this date) or delivered to the Elections Office, 7000 65th Street, Suite A, Sacramento. Online voter registration must be completed before midnight www.registertovote.ca.gov
October 23
​Conditional Voter Registration (CVR) begins. Voting period for new citizens who are sworn in after close of registration for this election begins
October 27
​Eighteen 11 Day Vote Centers open for this election
​October 30
​Last day a VBM ballot can be mailed to you.  After this date, VBM ballots are only available at the Elections Office or Vote Centers
November 3
All​ 78 Vote Centers open for this election

November 6
​Election Day – all ballots must be received or postmarked by 8:00 p.m.
