Filing Period for Write-In Candidates Begins

The period to file as a write-in candidate for the November 5, 2024, Presidential General Election begins today, Monday, September 9, 2024. Eligible persons seeking to run as a write-in candidate must file a Statement of Write-in Candidacy and other documentation by 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday, October 22, 2024.

Candidates wishing to file as write-in candidates may visit the Voter Registration and Elections (VRE) Office located at 7000 65th Street, Suite A, Sacramento. The office is open from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday excluding holidays.
