Manual Tally Precinct Selection Scheduled for June 3, 2026

Public and media are invited to observe precinct and batch selection and manual tally

Voter Registration and Elections (VRE) will conduct the public random selection for the one percent manual tally for the June 2, 2026, Primary Election in accordance with California Elections Code.

The manual tally process validates the tabulation of ballots generated by the electronic voting equipment prior to certifying election results. The County will conduct:

• a one percent manual tally of randomly selected precincts for Vote Center ballots, with 7 precincts selected from the County’s total of 607 precincts; and
• a manual tally of randomly selected Vote by Mail tabulation batches equal to at least one percent of the total Vote by Mail batches tabulated.

For each contest not included in the initial selection, one additional precinct or Vote by Mail tabulation batch containing that contest will be manually tallied.

The public random selection will take place on Wednesday, June 3, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. at the Elections Office located at 7000 65th Street, Suite A, Sacramento, CA 95823. The manual tally will begin at 9:00 a.m. on Thursday, June 11, 2026.
