Statewide Direct Primary Election Update
Voter Registration Deadline Quickly Approaching
The Sacramento County Department of Voter Registration and Elections (DVRE) would like to remind residents that Monday, May 21, 2018 is the last day to register to vote or change their party affiliation for the June 5 Election. Currently, there are more than 737,000 registered voters in Sacramento County and DVRE expects this number to increase due to the implementation of the Voter’s Choice Act, expanding voting opportunities across the region.
Residents are encouraged to register online
or pick-up a voter registration card at any Sacramento Public Library, post office or the Elections Office, 7000 65th Street, Suite A, Sacramento 95823. In order to be a registered voter, the voter registration form must be filled out completely, signed and postmarked by May 21, 2018, or hand-delivered to the Elections Office by 5 p.m. on May 21, 2018.
Additionally, if a resident has changed their name, address or political party, they will need to update their registration by cancelling their current voter registration and re-register. Residents who are unsure of their voter registration status can use the voter registration lookup system
