Voter Registration Deadline Approaching and
Conditional Voter Registration to Begin
Monday, October 21, is the last day to register to vote, update voter's residential address or change party affiliation for the November 5, 2024, Presidential General Election. Residents are encouraged to register at www.registertovote.ca.gov or pick-up a voter registration card at any Sacramento Public Library, post office or the Voter Registration and Elections (VRE) Office at 7000 65th Street, Suite A, Sacramento, CA 95823. In order to be a registered voter, the voter registration form must be filled out completely, signed and postmarked by October 21, or hand-delivered to the VRE Office by 5:00 p.m. on October 21.
Conditional Voter Registration (CVR) begins Tuesday, October 22. Eligible residents who missed the October 21, registration deadline may complete a voter registration form available at the VRE Office or at any Vote Center. Upon completion of the form, a VRE representative will provide the individual with a CVR provisional ballot which must be voted at the time and location it is received. Once the registration form has been processed and eligibility is verified the CVR ballot is counted. Residents may check their voter registration status on the My Voter Portal.
