MARCH 3, 2020, PRESIDENTIAL PRIMARY ELECTION UPDATE

Registration Deadline Approaching and
Conditional Voter Registration to Begin

Tuesday, February 18, 2020, is the last day to register to vote, update voter's residential address or change party affiliation for the March 3, 2020, Presidential Primary Election. Residents are encouraged to register at www.registertovote.ca.gov or pick-up a voter registration card at any Sacramento Public Library, post office or the Elections Office at 7000 65th Street, Suite A, Sacramento 95823. In order to be a registered voter, the voter registration form must be filled out completely, signed and postmarked by February 18, or hand-delivered to the Elections Office by 5:00 p.m. on February 18.

Conditional Voter Registration (CVR) begins Wednesday, February 19. Eligible residents who missed the February 18, registration deadline may complete a voter registration form available at the Elections Office or at any Vote Center. Upon completion of the form, a VRE representative will provide the individual with a CVR provisional ballot which must be voted at the time and location it is received. Once the registration form has been processed and eligibility is verified the CVR ballot is counted. Residents who are unsure of their voter registration status may use the voter registration lookup on the website to determine their status.

Voters are encouraged to vote their ballot, sign their pink Vote by Mail envelope and return their ballots early. Information on the days and hours of operation for Ballot Drop Boxes or upcoming Vote Centers is available on the VRE website at www.elections.saccounty.net, or use the direct links in the Key Election Dates below.

For more information, contact VRE at (916) 875-6451, or use the toll-free voter assistance hotline at (800) 762-8019. The hotline has the ability to connect voters with disabilities with TTY (Text Telephone).
