VOTER REGISTRATION AND ELECTIONS UPDATE
High School Mock Elections

Encouraging high school students to participate in the election process

Voter Registration and Elections is conducting Mock Elections at 29 County high schools in Sacramento County, January 6, 2020, through February 7, 2020. Approximately 18,000 high school students will be participating. The purpose of Mock Elections is to educate high school students on the voting process, and to encourage them to register or pre-register to vote. The Mock Election process provides students with knowledge and experience in hopes that they feel comfortable and motivated to participate when they turn 18. Students will be instructed on how to fill out a registration form, vote a mock ballot with current ballot content and experience first-hand the importance of voting.
