PRESIDENTIAL GENERAL ELECTION UPDATE
Nomination Period Extended for Local Offices in Sacramento County
The nomination period for the following local offices that are scheduled to be voted upon at the November 5, 2024, Presidential General Election in Sacramento County has been extended until 5:00 p.m. on August 14, 2024. The extension is only applicable to candidates other than the incumbent.
The nomination period is still open for the following local offices:
Schools Districts
- Los Rios Community College District Area 5
- Elk Grove Unified School District Area 6
- Folsom Cordova Unified School District Area 2
- Sacramento City Unified School District Areas 3, 4, and 7
- Dry Creek Joint Elementary School District
Special Districts
- Cosumnes Community Services District Divisions 1 and 4
- Rancho Murieta Community Services District
- Florin Resource Conservation District
- Courtland Fire District – Full Term and Short Term
- Herald Fire District – Full Term and Short Term
- Pacific Fruitridge Fire District – Short Term
- Sacramento Metropolitan Fire District Division 5
- Walnut Grove Fire District
- Wilton Fire District – Full Term and Short Term
- Arcade Creek Recreation and Park District
- Arden Manor Recreation and Park District – Full Term and Short Term
- Rio Linda-Elverta Recreation and Park District – Short Term
- North Highlands Recreation and Park District

Persons wishing to run for these offices must file their completed nomination papers at the Voter Registration and Elections Office at 7000 65th Street, Suite A, Sacramento, California, by 5:00 p.m. on August 14, 2024.
