Candidate Filing Has Begun

Candidate filing has begun and continues through 5:00 p.m. Friday, August 9, for the November 5, 2024 Presidential General Election.

If an incumbent fails to file for office by 5:00 p.m. on Friday, August 9, a 5-calendar day extension period begins during which any qualified person other than the incumbent may file. The deadline for the extension period is 5:00 p.m. Wednesday, August 14, 2024.

The Voter Registration and Elections (VRE) Office is located at 7000 65th Street, Suite A, Sacramento and is open from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday excluding holidays.
