SENATE DISTRICT 1 SPECIAL PRIMARY ELECTION UPDATE

Voter Registration Deadline Approaching

Sacramento County Voter Registration and Elections (VRE) reminds residents in State Senate District 1 that Monday, March 11, 2019, is the last day to register to vote, update voter's residential address or change party affiliation for the March 26, 2019, Senate District 1 Special Primary Election.

Residents are encouraged to register online or pick-up a voter registration card at any Sacramento Public Library, post office or the Elections Office at 7000 65th Street, Suite A, Sacramento. In order to be a registered voter, the voter registration form must be filled out completely, signed and postmarked by March 11, 2019, or hand-delivered to the Elections Office by 5:00 p.m. by March 11, 2019.

Residents who are unsure of their voter registration status may use the voter registration lookup system or call the elections office.

Eligible residents who miss the March 11 registration deadline may complete a voter registration form available at the Elections Office or at any Vote Center. Upon completion of the form, a VRE representative will provide the individual with a Conditional Voter Registration (CVR) provisional ballot which must be voted at the time and location it is received. Once the registration form has been processed and eligibility is verified the CVR ballot is counted.

Voters are encouraged to return their ballots early and sign their pink Vote by Mail (VBM) envelope in order for their ballot to be counted. Information on the days and hours of operation for Ballot Drop Boxes or upcoming Vote Centers is available on the VRE website at www.Elections.SacCounty.net, or you may use the links in the Key Election Dates below.
